Ali McGraw

She was just awful in this.

Agree on her bad acting. She's so pretty, it's hard to not look at her, but then she starts saying her lines and it goes downhill.

The Getaway's one weak point was her acting, but I still love that movie.

MH's score helps this one A LOT, as does some great photography.

I couldn't possibly disagree more. I fell in love with her and this type of woman from this movie. I want a girl like Ali McGraw. A bitchy wiseass.

I've just re-watched Love Story. It came out when I was in high school, and it hasn't stood the test of time. I agree that Ali McGraw's acting was very shallow and amateur. Her beauty -- the right look for the time -- and her obvious intelligence showed through, but there was no depth or connection to reality. She just didn't get what acting was supposed to be.

It could have been a very different, perhaps even more affecting, film with a different Jennifer.

Very soap-opera-ish. I can't believe she was the best they could find. Did she fuck the producer or something?
