Movie missing best two lines of the book

Last line of the novel: "And then I did what I had never done in his presence, much less in his arms. I cried." It's one of my favorite endings. In the movie, Oliver says "love means never having to say you're sorry" and then walks away. I love the book, I like the movie but the movie ending makes me cringe because the novel's last line is just so touching.

Why, yes! I once had a Beanie hat that I ordered from the back of a cereal box. So disappointed when I found I couldn't fly.

I watched the movie again last night, was expecting that line (I forgot it was or wasn't in the movie) but as you said it wasn't in the movie..
