Surprisingly Awful...

...yet I found myself blubbering like an idiot at the end. We bring our own life experiences with us to the movies, so I guess I was crying over my own losses, not about the cardboard character barely created by Ali MacGraw.

This movie totally sucked. If I were either McGraw or O'Neal I would have made it my last film. But no!!! I read the book way back and at the time tolerated the film but thought the acting awful.

I was forced to see the movie, along with for other couples. The only saving grace were the asides we threw in during the movie. We were hoping to get thrown out! Unfortunately, it didn't work.

Also, there was at least one paid crier in the theater. When she started up, even the girls who wanted to see the movie broke out in laughter.

It's not stood the test of time. I remember really liking it decades ago but now it just seems clunky. Maybe if I'm still around in another 30 years I'll like it again.

recently saw it for the first time and was surprised at how terrible it was. i'm a total hopeless romantic but jenny was a bitchy character. really didn't feel sorry for her at all. maybe it was the way the characters were written but they were not nice people.

Good grief, what a cynical lot we have become.

there is nothing worse than a movie that is a complete waste of time
