The boards to screen.

Not sure if work written for theatre transfers well to film? I suppose it can work given a play that would work in a film format and given the correct director actors and all the other ingredients required to make a good film. I don't know which plays have made the cross over. Sadly I do not go to the theatre enough. In fact I hardly go at all. Such a shame as every visit I swear to become a
regular. I'm sure someone in the know can educate me on plays that have worked. I'm just starting to watch "LOOT".Drawn to it out of an interest in Joe Orton, who seemed to be an interesting person.

I think quite often it can. But it's funny you raise this question, as watching this film, somehow made me feel that I'd rather watch a theater production of the content. I like the whole idea behind the story, but the cinematic treatment IMO, was pretty weak. Rather silly forced accents from most of the major characters, laughably inappropriate songs, a dopey car chase presumably supposed to be funny and strange camera angles for no clear reason, just didn't ring my bell, but the idea behind Loot has merit.🐭
