Anthony Zerbe and Roscoe Lee Brown

One interesting piece of trivia is that Anthony Zerbe and Roscoe Lee Brown became such good friends during this production that they put together a performance piece, including poetry (some of which was Brown's) and dramatic readings called "Behind the Broken Words" and toured together until Brown's death in 2007.

Thank you for that. You're right: that is interesting.

I am aware of that. Browne, IMO, was one of Hollywood's most underrated actors. In reality, he was an extremely intelligent man and an accomplished track star who taught French at an east coast college and who had memorized more than 500 poems. It was such a waste of his talent that most of the roles he played completely belied his talents. He was a true Renaissance Man and believe me, Hollywood has so few of them.

Good post ragingbull. And by the way, Behind the Broken Words (2003) is on film (or video). I haven't seen it but I did see the performance on stage a long time ago. Good Stuff. At least he had that outlet for his talents.
