is this as good or comparable to 'tick tick tick'?

"tick tick tick" is one of my favorite films dealing with the southern life. Seem it and this one came out within a few months of one another.

Input???

This is much bleaker and devoid of the Guess Who's Coming To Dinner optimism of most of the other films of this ilk made in the wake of In the Heat Of the Night.Very downbeat and quietly grim ending. It deserves re examination in light of the racial discord we are seeing again today.

I completely agree. There was a scene with Yaphet Kotto's character talking to his mother (Zara Cully), and he says he was 13 when he was beat by a white man and still remembers it. She tells him that it happened so long ago, and that basically it's over. But the truth is that a lot of this is not over-- not even in 2015 (over 45 years later).

Better than tick tick tick, though no happy ending like that movie!
