Is Big Joe a pedophile??He asked Kelly to bring him a good looking kid.And Kelly responds something like "if you are looking for a young boy,look yourself",or something like that.Was this common thing in WW2?

I don't see how anyone can mistake Big Joe for a pedophile as he was always looking for the local whorehouses and inquiring about where all the women were. Seemed like a normal healthy soldier to me.

By "good-looking kid," he meant a young woman. But the phrasing was odd so Kelly made the pedophile joke.

I think Kelly was sent out on a patrol to capture a prisoner so that they could get information from him. That is what their small unit was supposed to do- reconnaissance. I think the idea was that a "good lookin' kid" would be a young soldier, newer to battle, more likely to be scared and easier to interrogate. But I saw somebody else say that the good lookin' kid would know where the booze and broads were so that may be the intelligence that Big Joe wanted, not military intelligence.
