What accent is Oddball supposed to have?

He is an out of place in time Hippie... Comic relief. In one of the commentary things once on TCM They talked about it.

I know he is supposed to be a hippy... just found his speech inflectins odd.

It sounded like he had rhoticism, the inability to pronounce R's...like Barbra Walters or Elmer Fudd...

Ah ha! A Philadelphia accent makes sense.

Sutherland sounds like he's doing a Philadelphia accent with a bunch of marbles in his mouth. :D
