I thought this movie was really wierd and boring so turned it off. Then had to turn it back on for the 'hell of it':) It did bring me to tears but I guessed the end at the beginning.
I was a teenager in the 60's. An active teenager. Not a wallflower.
I think the attitude of the 60's is way overdone just as the Civil War movies.
I never saw any of the vices portrayed in all the media.
I think it was a 'coastal thing'.

I saw "Joe" when it opened and later heard about a showing of the film where a hippie kid stood up at the end and shouted, "You see what they want to do? They want to kill us all!"

shareI agree. Never been a fan of 60's counterculture films but this one is outstanding. Great acting. Hard to believe the same director went on to direct ROCKY, NEIGHBORS and THE KARATE KID.
