DVD

Can anybody tell me whether or not there is a DVD and if there is, where to get it? Thanks.

I don't think there is a DVD or even a VHS version for that matter, but I love the quote. That's Travis(DeNiro) on the pay phone from Taxi Driver, right?

it comes out on DVD in March, it was just announced.

What a coincidence! Is that Walk the Line or I Walk the Line!

reply

Both out within a week.I walk the line should capitalize on Walk the Line.

I just got my copy, discounted at Amazon, of IWTL.

Don't miss I WALK THE LINE, even if you have seen it before. I saw it on TV once, in black and white of all things, and cut to death. This is glorioiusly colored, and it holds up even better than I had thought it would. If you ever wondered if Gregory Peck could actually act when pushed to the wall, see this. You will wonder where the movie star persona went, but you won't miss him. And Tuesday Weld is, of course, magnificent, 27 in reality but a believable 16 here, innocent but womanly, simple but complex. Other performances are very strong. You begin by having some contempt for Estelle Parsons' character, but before she is finished with you, you will know all this skilled actress can tell you about the poor woman she portrays.

This is the kind of movie film people call a "small miracle."

And, of course, the music fits very well.

This was filmed in color...where did you watch it in B&W? Did you have the color control turned off on your TV set? So, no, the filmed hasn't been 'colorized', if that's what you mean.

It was filmed in color, but my TV when I first saw it, was a black and white set.
There WAS life before color tv in every home, you know. Or maybe you are too young to remember? We were poor grad students. The tv was from a secondhand shop. Worked just fine, too.

I wasn't asking if it had been colorized. I know it hadn't.

Having commented on the least important aspect of my post, did you have anything interesting to say about the film itself? Have you, for example, seen it?

reply

Now they need to release this on blu-ray!
