Johnny Cash soundtrack

Does anyone have a list of the songs Johnny Cash sings in this film. I only knew a few of them. Most of them seems to comment on the plot, so it's almost as if they were written for the movie, but I doubt it.

Anyway, I'd love to get hold of the songs (I have "I Walk the Line" of course). Can anyone help me?

Most songs were indeed written for the movie

The tracks are:

I Walk the Line
Flesh and Blood
Hungry
This Town
This Side of the Law
Flesh and Blood (instrumental)
'Cause I Love You
'Cause I Love You (instrumental)
The Worlds Gonna Fall on You
Face of Despair
Standing on Promises/Amazing Grace

It is real easy to buy the cd

Certainly not gonna be going for any soundtrack of this movie - in fact, these damn songs were about the worst thing about it all. For one thing, they´re pretty generic in themselves, with terribly literalistic lyrics and for another, these lyrics keep blatantly commenting on the on-screen action, sort of leading the viewer by the hand all the way. It really bogs things down some. Otherwise very good film though, tight, lean and bleak, with lots of impressive cinematography (the best stretch being the long run around the countryside Peck performs, looking for Weld, with that spooky, ominous roar on the soundtrack. Amazingly well shot).

Agree wholeheartedly. Johnny Cash is often good in small doses, but his "soundtrack" for this movie, with all the simplistic 3-chord melodies, monotonous arrangements, not to mention his very dodgy vocalizing (was he on the road to another one of his benders at the time?), detracts from the strong performances, striking camerawork and subtly effective editing.

I agree Cash is good in small doses not singing throughout the film. Here, less is more.
