Great ghost story

I remember having seen it as a child, with my family in the living room. After the movie no one dared to go to the toilet!
To me, this is one of the best ghost films ever. It has a hauntingly good story, good performances and even a pre-exorcist possession or two with freaked us all out!
Remember that it is made for television in 1970, but whoever gets the chance to see this film, I ertainly can recommend it.

Second that. Even my father, who normally dismissed any supernatural story, was impressed by this. The Changeling is also good, but that's a 1980's motion picture and this was 1970's TV. I'd love to see this on DVD.

This is one of the best ghost films ever shown on TV! I still remember the first time I saw it, and how frightening it is! I'd love to see it again.

there's a new book on amazon.com called TELEVISION FRIGHT FILMS OF THE 1970s that talks about this film.

I also agree. It's too bad you never see this or any of the other Aaron Spelling ghost movies of that period. I taped this one in 1980 and haven't seen it since. Those old TV Movies of the Week were great, but you never see them anymore.

Barbara Stanwyck and Barbara Parkins were also good in "A Taste Of Evil" (1971).

The interesting thing to me though is some of the cheaper tricks in it (camera zooms and sort of odd editing) is what puts me right on edge and makes it SCARY. You don't see zooms or editing like that in movies, it's too rough and "cheap". But because of that, we haven't seen these techniques in a long while (quite like it is in this) and it jangles the nerves. Just watched it again, it's actually really scary in many ways but these techniques play a moajor part in setting you on edge.

I love this movie and I REALLY love the book. A friend of mine tracked down an un-edited version for me a couple of years ago. I love it... First time I read it, I was up until 2 in the morning finishing it, and then I couldn't go to sleep...
