Music box?

Did this movie feature a music box or some other device that played a famous piece of music?

There are 3 70s horror movies that scared the crap out of me as a child and I have had a difficult time trying to identify what they were. I'm almost certain this is one of them--I seem to recall that piece of music turning up more than once but I can't remember the music either (argh!). For some reason the image of Stanwyck stands out in my mind though I had no idea who she was when I was a kid.

I know one of the other movies was "The Legacy" in which a woman was swimming and was magically trapped under the water. The 3rd movie featured a woman in a rural house who was having visions of the Salem witch trials.

Any thoughts?

I just watched this movie last night and I can assure you that there is no music box in this one. Also, no visions of the Salem witch trials. Sorry.

The movie about "The Salem Witch Trials" is very likely "Crowhaven Farm" with Hope Lange. You can see it on Youtube.

I think you are thinking of The Changeling.

The OP could be thinking of the 1972 TV-Movie "She Waits" which starred Patty Duke, David McCallum and Dorothy McGuire. There are two music boxes which are important to the story in that film.

and the sounds of a music box ended the movie "Burnt Offerings"(the 1976 movie that starred Karen Black, Bette Davis and Oliver Reed), too

"Live long and prosper"

No device like a music box. But the music for this tv-film has an old melancholy melody that can be heard when the women first arrive at the house, and at the end when the sad truth about Ammie is finally known.

and arthouse. A film is a goddam film.-

Burnt Offerings (1976) as already mentioned
House (1977)
