chamber music used in 'Waxworks'

I've never been a big fan of chamber music, but the piece used early in the Peter Cushing wax museum segment is really... powerful, which is a quality I like in music. It reminds me of the Russian composers I like so well for their forceful music, like Tschaikowsky and Mussorgsky. I'm going to guess Dvorak since I know he wrote some chamber music, but it sounds perhaps a bit earlier than Dvorak....

Anyway, my point is does anyone know the piece's composer and/or title? Thanks in advance....

If it's the piece I'm thinking of, it would be Franz Schubert's Death and the Maiden, used in this Youtube clip of the film beginning at :58 seconds:

Here's another version of it:

Is that the one you mean?

Oh, yes. That's it! Thanks much. No wonder I liked it so much. Nothing in d minor can be that bad. But Schubert... oh well, guess I'll have to start giving him a little more credit beyond that one symphony of his I like. And reading the wiki page about it shows that someone making this movie knew a bit about music. A very appropriate choice.

Thanks again.

It's "Death and the Maiden." In fact, that particular song title was almost used for the movie title itself:

It was beautiful music. This whole film has great music but this piece in particular really stands out and is unforgettable.
