Vincent Price

Amicus originally wanted the great Vincent Price for the part of Paul Henderson. What a coup that would have been all the horror greats together, although VP was under contract to American International at that time and so was unable to take the part and was apparently "very upset" about this as he liked the script. Although it has to be said Jon Pertwee is very good in the part.

Wow...I would have loved to have seen VP in this!!!!!!!!!!! Jon Pertree was very good though. I reccomend you see it just for his part. My favorite scene in his story is when he starts to fly once he dons the cape.

Check out this one, I think you'll like.

Interesting, particularly since Price did similar sorts of roles around the same time--where he played an actor--such as "Theatre of Blood" and "Madhouse".

(Speaking of the Pertwee story, while I loved the little detail bits scattered throughout "House that Dripped Blood" my favorite has got to be where Pitt dons the cape and lifts into the air leaving her shoes behind. That's got to be one of the more realistic vampire scenes ever. :D )

Vincent Price would have really enjoyed himself in that role. Jon Pertwee was good. But I'd rather VP had been in the film.

To each his or her own no doubt. I personally LOVED Pertwee in the role so very much and really wouldn't have wanted to see any other actor playing this role! Of course it's just my own personal preference though.
