Obviously JLG !


It's hard to believe that no one in the comments made the connection between this movie and all Jean-Luc Godard 's production before 1970. It's obviously a poor and pale attempt from De Palma to copy JLG 's ideas/ideals transposed here to the USA.
With a funny and also pretty bad result in my opinion...

No one? I hardly see an article on Early De Palma without someone mentioning Godard. Hell, I think De Palma himself has called the films his attempt at an "American Godard".

And from interviews, I still get the feeling that Godard is his biggest personal influence. Yes, even bigger than Hitchcock. He still loves his films, and unlike other people, he seems to know and understand his post-70s work.
