The Kiss?

Okay, what did the kiss between the boy and the grandmother mean? Any theories?

My interpretation was that the parents represented "man as animal" or beings controlled by their immediate emotional needs. The grandmother I saw as being sort of a transcendence from the lowly animals which spawned the boy. the kiss then I saw as the boy becoming "synergistic" or more than the sum of his parts. It's the moment when boy goes from "man" to what Nietzsche would call "Overman". Of course, that's just an interpretation...and just one layer of the onion so to speak at that :)
