That kid must be traumatized to this day..
Only Eraserhead can top the eerie nightmare-world vibe that Lynch was able to achieve with The Grandmother. I imagine that young kid must have been terrified. And if he wasn't scared to death, it's probably only because his brain wasn't developed enough to grasp the pure hell that Lynch was creating. Regardless, he did an excellent job.. Along with that Grandmother, who was supposed to be his salvation, but she freaked me out even more.
Anytime I want someone to leave my apartment, I will put this on. Few people can stomach the whole 22 minutes. A good friend of mine and my sister (who bought me the dvd), were at my place watching this at they were both scarred for life. Another reason I love and respect David Lynch so much.
