So who has the best CD of Altamont?

Gimmee Shelter was a shocking documentary and a riveting film but the one take away from my seeing it again last night was how fantastic the music was. Despite all the goings on the Stones never sounded better, never sounded tighter. I hope someone has a bootleg or info on where we can get a soundtrack of their performance.

I would also love to hear more from The Jefferson Airplane's performance. Surely they did more than just that one single song because they too were ready to rock!

And in Gimmee Shelter thre was not even a version of The Stones debuting Brown Sugar live!!!

Please advise! I have to get it!

Actually the film is called "Gimme Shelter"

An audience recording of the Stones' set has been in circulation for years and features the entire performance.

The other artists' sets at Altamont were recorded from the audience as well, but only partial recordings exist in traders' circles at this time.
