Two different versions

I recently got the German dvd of "Il Gatto a nove code/Cat O' Nine Tails". It has a running time of 97 min. I then read about a version that plays at 114 min. That is a big difference. I'm wondering if anyone has seen both versions, and can describe the difference between the two. I have seen two different versions of "Deep Red". The longer, directors version had more talking and character development scenes, but not more gore effects. I am thinking that this one was cut down to speed up the pacing?

my deep red version has alot more talking and way more gore effects notable is the end part when he kills the old lady.

I saw a picture of an injured franciscus and staak in bed, must be after the end of the dvd version. there is a much longer version, according to a german book about argento.

Argento probably decided not to use the "happy ending" and leave it ambiguous. We don't even know if the little girl survives.

the long version is only 123 seconds longer,imbd is wrong
