Dr.Cook's Garden(1971)

This is a unique film for Bing Crosby. He plays a smalltown Doctor in this chiller.
While it's not strong stuff,it's worth watching at least once to see this performer in his only chiller in which he's the villian!

Interesting little thriller, with Crosby cast against type as a sinister character. Very obscure...not many people have heard of it. Definitely worthy of a DVD release...haven't seen it in years, but it's definitely stayed with me.

there's a new book on amazon.com called TELEVISION FRIGHT FILMS OF THE 1970S that talks about this film.

From the early days of made for TV movies when there was still some serious attempt to take some risk to get content, if not visual grandeur impossible on the small screen of the day, comparable to good cinema. Other items to look for The Borgia Stick (1967), How I Spent My Summer Vacation(1967) which were among the very first made for TV movies (shown on NBC). Also produced for ABC at the time as Dr. Cook's Garden (1971)were the notable efforts The Love War (1970) and The Haunts of the Very Rich (1972).
