The Novel, opinions on translations.

Any thoughts on which translations are the best, most accurate to the original source materials. As I do not read Italian that is not an opinion. My copy is a trans by J. M. Rigg.

Any views on the numerous versions available?

Since i'm italian i can't really speak about translations. The only thing i can say is that the major problem as far as the decameron is concernerd is that its language is not just standard italian but a mixture of every vernacular variation of our country at that time.
