The movie was filmed in 1969, Polanski wrote the script at the end of 1968 early 1969. He did not direct the movie, in the autobiography he says he only watched the dailies while he was in London. Polanski doesn't say much about this movie probably because he was not happy about the choice of the lead actor. The film had a limited theatrical release since 1970
shareThe lead actor, Mark Burns, though not a well known name, was brilliant in this movie. I never really liked him before watching this, but WOW!, what a beautiful and sad performance.
shareYeah he briefly mentioned it in his autobiography but wasn't too complimentary about Hesera's lack of composition. A shame really because I think it looked great. A bit shabby but it really goes well with the film.
