SPOILERS! Roderick = sexy beast

This guy is the 'poster boy' for the age old question, "If she knew he was a bad boy, why did she invite him through the door?" Answer: Roderick, for me, is the hottest shapeshifter of the horror genre. Also, his character had dimension, duplicity, and righteous revenge at the end, which is so satisfying in escapist cinema.

The film's underlying message is metaphorically very "against The Man and The Establishment" as was the pop culture thinking of it's time.

Again, Spoiler Ahead, the last scene, as the camera pans up to reveal who's driving the coach and 'not sparing the horses' whilst Vincent Price shouts to the unseen master of his ill fate, is vividly brilliant.

I watched it recently and it withstands the passage of time, as does Patrick Mower on EF.

My mom dragged me to see this back when it came out. But that was the only time I remember seeing it. It played on THisTV today so I watched it to see if I could actually remember any of it. I remembered a lot of it but the ending was very vivid except I thought I remembered the two people in the coach with Vincent Price were beheaded but apparently I was wrong. Still you're right, this movie still holds up somewhat though I wasn't as horrified as I was when I was a child.
