Poe-m in the trailer

If memory serves me, Edgar Allen Poe never wrote a story or a poem entitled "Cry of the Banshee." So where did the cool poem in the trailer for this movie come from? Was it a Poe poem, a contemporary's poem, or just the intriguing work of the marketing department at AIP? I tried Google - which was worthless as to be expected.

Any American or English lit majors have some info?

Lit major here.

While the film was not based on this poem by Edgar Allen Poe, which was first published in 1843, the poem in the trailer is Poe's "The Conqueror Worm." The title of the film "Cry of the Banshee," was actually changed to "The Conqueror Worm" for distribution in the U.S. to associate it with Price's association with Poe.

Sorry Kevin but you are wrong, The Conqueror Worm (1968) (Witchfinder General is the original title) is a completely different film.
