Complete version?

OK--I know this was edited in 1972 when it played in the US. It had a PG rating and mostly all the nudity was cut along with the gore. I'm curious--is the one paired with "The Vampire Lovers" on DVD the complete version or the edited one?

reply

I can't say for sure if its the "complete version", but there is enough nudity on the MGM Double Feature DVD that it would not pass with a PG-rating. In fact, the film is listed as being 'Not Rated' on the DVD, so its definitely not the PG version.

By the way, about the new IMDb design.... Yeah, it still sucks.

Thanks for the info. It has nudity? That's got to be the complete version. Now if we could get an uncut version of "Vampire Circus" over here...

I agree--the new IMDB design sucks. I'm sick of being "told" that I can watch movies online.

reply

netflix streaming has "Vampire Circus." it is a great movie.

reply

Actually the complete version is out on DVD and Blu-Ray. I agree--it's a great movie.

Does this movie show Ingrid Pitt in full frontal nudity ? Thank you.

reply

Thing is, back in the 70's, PG movies showed sex and nudity.

The print used for the MGM double feature ("Midnight Madness") DVD was the British print distributed by Rank Film Distributors. I would say this is the uncut version based on the fact that they used the British print instead of the American release print.

reply

I've noticed the Midnight double feature DVDs USUALLY have the uncut prints. They just fumbled though on "Tales from the Crypt" with "Vault of Horror". "Tales" was PG and complete--"Vault" was R and there are two or three cuts that totally destroy the punchlines of the stories. Their claim is they couldn't find an uncut print. That's bull--I saw it uncut on video back in the 1990s.
