What caused her final transformation back into old crone countess? When I saw this in the 70s my impression was seeing g her own daughter canceled the magic. Seeing it again It seems to happen after the priest crosses her in holy genuflect or whatever. Im aware the duration was random if not fleeting always, but it does seem like there is a.. cause that triggers her transformation at the very end.

She married him on a false pretense in front of God, and thinking that she could get away with it, but you cannot fool God, and when the final benediction took place, she was punished and reversed back to her ugly true self.
