My brother David's mentor, director Martin Donovan, took us to see it when I was 17.
Martin knew and loved the film for years, he kind of prepared us for what we were going to see - (that is a moment of my life forever in my brain and in my heart) - then after the movie, he wanted to hear our comments. I was overwhelmed. I had never seen a movie like that.
I'm bringing this up because I saw it again last night and it moved me in a totally unexpected way.

So when people ask me about the films of my life....The Conformist is right up there.
