Great movie?

This is the kind of movie that killed off westerns stone dead by the early Seventies, even with John Wayne, Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas still making good ones. James Stewart's reputation never recovered, going into an unsuccessful tv series. Henry Fonda had more strings to his bow. I don't think it was her role in this that won Shirley Jones her place in "The Partridge Family" (debuting three months after this stinker was released) so I guess it must have been the fact that she was David Cassidy's step-mother.

I don't think I've ever read a single paragraph with more misinformation in it. I lived through that time, and you couldn't be more wrong on every point.
