Davis Grubb?
Imdb erroneously says this movie is based on a book by Davis Grubb. It is James Stewart's next film, Fools' Parade, which was based on a Grubb novel. Cheyenne Social Club seems to be an original screenplay by James Lee Barrett.
shareI believe you are correct. There is apparently no novel by the name Cheyenne Social Club by Davis Grubb, author of Night of the Hunter, or anyone else. James Lee Barrett would seem to be the sole writer of this movie. Grubb's novel Fools' Parade was the basis of James Stewart's next film. Grubb is not known as a Western writer. He only wrote 10 novels.
