perfect lighting and drama for heist films! his style is absolute top notch beyond hollywood( the french intoxicating mixure is amazing). though very slow by todays standards the drama and minimalist approach is all his own!

Agreed - absolutely beautiful. Probably the coldest color film I've ever seen. Everything is grey, even skin tones somehow. A match of cinematography and tone one rarely sees, both set to extremes but perfectly complementing one another.

Just stunning.
