A Movie that just can't find it's way to video!

This is a Great Family Victorian SI-FI Adventure Classic that can’t find it’s way to video!Does any know why this classic Movie has NEVER MADE IT to video tape or disc.
A big studio (MGM) produced it. and I presume who ever currently owns their TV/ video library rights must have it included on their list some where. This movie has two great actors in it Robert Ryan and Connors, a great musical score, even believable special effects for the time. Seeing this in a move theater as a kid was a remember able experience with a good moral message ending. Now I’ve been patiently waiting for a video release forever. So what’s the problem MGM? Too clean for today’s KIDS? This is the kind of film that should be on the Kids shelf right next to the latest Harry Potter Trash (That traumatized small kids into screaming and crying at the movie where I saw it at). And if it ever does come out, it MUST be wide screen just the way I remember it. For now I ‘m lucky to have it TV Beta recorded from so long ago..

when did you make that post? 1985? who asks for "video" today.. that's funny. i ask for video sometimes too. just that imdb is filled with posts like "dvd.. dvd..dvd..", and here someone ask for "video".
i watched this movie today (on TCM), this was a movie where i recognised about every actor but couldn't quite tell from where. (fawlty towers, latigo/support your local gunfighter, etc.. maybe?)

nobody love me,
just trying to do the right thing,
just want some care for my soul,
and i keep wondering what i've done wrong,
it's hopeless,
best thing i could do is stop it,
then i wouldn't have to take the hurt,
of lost love,
where did all the love go,
what have i done wrong,
when the moon is set high i should pack and go,
though i don't have any place to head, maybe things will look brighter tomorrow.

"Video" sounded weird in the DVD era and now we're in the era of Blu Ray and HD...

But in regards to the o.p., doubtlessly the reason it was never issued on video is because it's a big widescreen movie. The film wasn't a big hit, the wide angles look crummy cropped and there wasn't a lot of interest in it (as indicated by its "on Demand" dvd status), ergo no VHS release.

It's available from the Warner Archive Collection. I have a copy in front of me right now.
