I enjoyed this one a lot... and I mean A LOT

What a cool little horror film. Milligan was a real artist, attempting the impossible whenever he embarked on his micro-budget period films, and I tend to enjoy much of his work (until his 1980s output).

This film really impressed me. It's so cool to see a costume drama/horror effort shot in grainy 16MM with handheld camera. The aesthetics alone gave me a sense of unease. The gore was also far more aggressive than expected, and the acting and writing were surprisingly accomplished as well.

As for all the negative reviews, it's a shame that narrow-minded people can't step out of their comfort zone and allow themselves to enjoy non-Hollywood, unconventional cinema.
