Does anybody know what the name and singer of the Spanish song which is repeated, in excerpts, throughout this film is?
It has been translated, in part, for me. The words are very nice, but I would love to find out who wrote and performed it...

Herzog says in the commentary that the song is a traditional folksong of the Canary Islands (where the movie was filmed), and the singer was an 11-12 year-old girl, presumably from the area, that he recorded singing in a cave to achieve the sound he wanted. Doubtful we'll ever know her name though.

shareI'd appreciate a translation too. one of my students said it was something about a revolution. she thought maybe the mexican revolution, but if it was recorded in the canary islands this may be wrong.
shareThe song has nothing to do with the Mexican revolution. It is an "isa", a type of folk song from the Canary Islands.

Oh yes, quite, I want them all. But I don't speak spanish and don't where to get that type of Canary Island Folk Music. So any any title to any song that she sings would be much appreciated. Wasn't there a third song is this movie?

One of my favourites: The song 'Zinskaro' by Vokal Ansambl Gordela, in Nospheratu. Gives me goosebumps every time again. Brilliant scene!
