I have to agree on all counts

This remains one of the very best pieces of television I've ever seen. In retrospect, I was very fortuante to be able to tape this TV play during the KCET rebroadcast in 1984, and I just recently transfered it to DVD so I could watch it again without wearing out the tape. I have to say Shatner's performance is absolutely riveting. This is probably the best thing he ever did in film or TV. Richard Basehart does an equally good job, though. Even Cameron Mitchell was outstanding as the head of the tribunal. The other character actors shine too, from Buddy Ebsen and Slim Pickens on down through walk-ons like the very young Martin Sheen. This is an absolutely superb piece of TV, right up there with Arthur Miller's Playing For Time (1980) which I was also fortunate enough to tape and transfer to DVD, and Sole Survivor (197), another great Shatner/Basehart pairing with equally electrifying acting that I also taped and just transferred to DVD. For some reason, Shatner and Basehart just made a dynamite duo. They're great in Sole Survivor (1970) but even more incredible in this classic TV play. This classic TV play is just amazing, and it deserved every award it got. robothamster AT hotmail DOT com
