Filming location
An old chestnut but it's driving me mad! The opening cafe scenes are Jargeau and I believe other filming was in the Orleans area, but has anyone tracked down the other locations eg the cemetery or the " bad road "cafe?

shareMany thanks for replying. I should have better things to do, but filming locations have always bugged me. There is a scene with a sign saying Landron (on highway D12). Trouble is I dont think there is such a place on the D12. I don't know if you've ever seen The Prisoner, but in "Fall Out" there is a sign saying "A20 - London 27". Easy to work out where it is? Hardly - as it was actually filmed on the A1 near Elstree Studios which are nowhere near the A20! I wonder if they did same here for whatever reason? I'll find it one day !!!!!

Thanx for your post - you're absolutely right.
It's odd isn't it. The answer is that "And Soon The Darkness" was filmed (mostly) in France - probably in the Orleans District. Not quite the same as knowing exactly where!! Think of all the other films / TV we've checked under " filming locations " and thought " oh right - so that's where it was....." Always had a thing about where and when. Maybe one day someone will come back off their hols and identify it. However, it's been nearly 42 years now - maybe it doesn't look the same!

I have had a look on google maps to find the locations of the filming and that part of France has a lot of small country roads I am still trying to find the Gendarmes house/police station and also the bad road cafe and the clearing where Cathy vanishes from .
