DVD?

This little gem should get a release.

I was thinking the same thing. Release it on DVD!

I like how MGM was so proud to release this movie (the opening credits seem to show a certain pride in this movie as well as the two posters shown here at impawards/imdb). It was like "hey here is 8 1/2 for the 1970s AND it's American!!"

Too bad it failed ultimately and this is why MGM does not currently have it on DVD. While I particularly do not care for it (4/10 score currently) I would agree that this should be on DVD. There's a lot worse crap out there and I swear, MGM was most certainly thinking this was an important film that had potential to break certain barriers in Hollywood/artistic filmmaking merits. Then they realized they were wrong.

Oops.

I bought the DVD from Amazon on the recommendation of a friend who said it's her favorite movie.

I was very disappointed in it; however I do like the images of Hollywood in 1970. I was working right off Hollywood Boulevard at the time and I recognize many of the locations.

I was thinking of selling my copy, but I think I will keep it just for the remembrances of the time period.
