It took me forever....

It took me forever to find this movie because it was in the mid '70's and I only remember that it was way back when and fortunately that Donald Sutherland was in it. Not a blockbuster but a very good story and memorable acting on the part of Sutherland and Bujold. The ending was a the LAST thing I expected.
