People who saw this in the original broadcasts ...............

I remember this being the SCARIEST thing on TV up to that point! I mean - I would be sweating thru some of these episodes and frozen from fear (you know- when you're too afraid to go into the bathroom alone!).
Thank goodness my parents let me stay up to watch this! 👹

I remember these in their original broadcasts as well. "Certain Shadows on the Wall" had a special way of scaring me because I had just started sleeping alone at this point and my bed was up against the wall. All I could do that night was stare at the wall to see if a shadow would pop up on it. The theme music and credits from the first two seasons still get to me after all these years.

Annoying the world since 1960!

"Certain Shadows on the Wall" really scared me too. Also, "The Dead Man" and "The Cemetery" and "Lagoda's Heads" (I know everybody laughs at that episode but it was scary for a 10-year-old). Later episodes that creeped me out were "Whisper" and "Tell David." I also remembered "Green Fingers" and "The Caterpillar" but I didn't find them scary, just memorable.

"Lagoda's Heads" works better in its original format. In syndication, they added footage from the VERY bad movie "Curucu, Beast of the Amazon" in order to pad the story to fill the 30-minute time slot.
