Feminism + Sam McLeod, c.1972

If I recall correctly, this episode, season 3 show 1, contained one of the more humorous of all of Dennis Weaver's work. The scene begins in the front seat of the squad car. Exhibiting the feminism of the era, a female officer is brought onto the force. On her first patrol, an assertive Sergeant Maggie Clinger (Sharon Gless [Cagney & Lacy]), taunts Sam McLeod by asking if her female presence intimidates his masculinity.
"Well no, ma'am. do I intimidate your's?"
Sam replied in his trademark earnest, cowboy tongue-in-cheek way.

That show had a lot to say about both women's lib and racial relations. I would compare it in that way to Barney Miller from a similar time span in New York.
