probably the worst episode. There is a major mistake in this episode. Broadhurst goes undercover as an insurance investigator and questions Jason Carter ( Robert Reed). a few scenes later Broadhurst is playing the role of bartender at a party for Jason Carter. Carter shows up and orders a drink from Broadhurst - not recognizing him as th insurance from a few days before. Unbelievable.

When you aren't expecting to see someone you know in a different setting, you often don't identify him or her, particularly when the person is in a position of service. Distracted people don't really look at those who aren't at their social level. It's a quirk of human nature that we only take in the information that seems important to us at the time. It's why the public make such unreliable witnesses. Most of us don't notice and mentally record much of what is going on around us. (A very funny example of that is in Sean of the Dead when, morose because of his personal problems, Sean walks to the corner store totally unaware that the street has become full of zombies.) Police officers have to be trained to overcome this tendency.
