Josie Has the Smallest Part on the Show!

What's up what that? It's called Josie and the Pussycats and yet Josie has the smallest part of any of the characters. Alexandra probably has the largest role followed by the guys and Melody, then Valerie and way in the back is Josie who in a few episodes I've seen only had a couple lines. She was much more promenient in the comic books, I guess I can see her having a smaller role given she's a conventional somewhat colorless character and the type of "comedy/mystery" format of the show but the smallest part? That cat gets more screen time!

Janet Waldo, when interviewed about "Josie", found this fact amusing herself.

Alexandra was just a more dynamic character, hence why she was given so much screen time.

Now that you mention it you are right, Josie did not have as much screen time as the rest of them. Alexandria was fun to watch.

Alexandra and her cat sidekick were really the "stars" of the cartoon series. Alexandra was was the most complicated and dynamic character. Alan was the strong upstanding hero. Valarie had the brains and talent. Melody and Alex were the comedy relief. This left Josie as the nice girl without much of a personality and the least interesting character.
