truth is stranger than fiction

I was watching "House Call" on FOX news Sunday and the doctors were discussing a new study that shows that transfusing the plasma from a young mouse into and older mouse with heart disease or Alzheimer's showed a marked improvement. It is thought to be a protein in the plasma that changes as we age that leads to many problems with aging, from heart disease, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, arthritis to lesser ones like wrinkles and baldness. Studies are being planned that could lead to treatments involving taking the blood from young people and giving it to old people as a cure. I remember this show and the basic idea for a man with "perfect' blood being kidnapped by an old rich guy so he could get transfusions as needed. Life imitates art once again...

Wow, just watched an episode of That's Impossible, in one part they spoke of exactly the same thing. They surgically connected an old and young mouse's circulatory systems and the old mouse had many healing benefits.

Here's this link to the episode I was referring to:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1471938/?ref_=ttep_ep4
The part about the mice is about 40-45 minutes in.

BTW, I loved this show, as a kid and was a big fan of Christopher George and his wife.
