just released to DVD. Check it out a Bestbuy or Circuit city

You can get videos as well. but you only get about 3 episodes on them. There is 8 on the DVD. it also depends where you live, it hasn't been relased in my country yet....which is a bit annoying...

i saw a new dvd today in hmv called tasty episodes or something, its the follow up the 8 delicious episodes that came out on dvd a while ago

Within the past few months Netflix has one Goodies DVD available with three classics episodes on them. It was wonderful! I have been looking for The Goodies for years!!!!!!!!

"The Goodies" is available on DVD (PAL Region 4) in Australia. There are two DVD available - "The Goodies - Eight Delicious Episodes" and "The Goodies - a Tasty Second Helping". If you would like to order these, go to the ABC Shop website abcshop.com.au or go to this link: http://shop.abc.net.au/browse/formatcategory.asp?formatid=2&categoryid=18&page=20

I do not know if ABC Shop sends stuff overseas, and it is noted on the site that these DVDs are not for use in the USA or Japan (but if your DVD player plays all regions, you may get by). All prices are in Australian dollars.

Thanks ming-28, you're answer was really helpful. I've now bought the two DVD's you mentioned, '8 Delicious Episodes' and 'A Tasty Second Helping' and am having a wonderful time watching them. At the tender age of twenty, I'm one the "new generation" Goodies fans (thanks to my uncle) and haven't seen many on TV. I'm finding that the DVD episodes are like totally new episodes for me! Woot!

Now I have a few questions, if anyone would be so kind as to answer me:

Does anyone know if there are plans to release more episodes on DVD? I would buy them in an instant!
If so, where would I find this information? i.e. price, release date, location to buy, etc.
Have all 75 of the original episodes survived the thirty-odd years since they stopped airing?

Not a problem, Junius42 - always prepared to help out fellow lovers of BritCom!

I believe that if you wish to find out if there are more "The Goodies" episodes to come out on DVD, the best people to ask are those lovely people at ABC Australia. Go here: http://www.abc.net.au/ to the ABC Website. I believe that ABC Australia are the only ones actually releasing any "The Goodies" anything at this stage. "The Goodies" was (and still is) extemely popular in Australia with a huge cult following. The ABC gets several requests a year to re-run the series (the last time it was on was in the early 90's)and "The Goodies" recently did a tour here in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in March 2005. Any "The Goodies" merchandise, DVD's or videos (VHS) can be purchased from the ABC Shop Online. Drop them an email - they may be able to help you with future DVD releases.

Hail, ming-28, fellow lover of BritCom! Really, what is about the British that makes them so much better at comedy? Cases in point: The Goodies, Monty Python, Black Books, the Young Ones, Blackadder, etc, etc. The list goes on!

Thanks very much for replying to my questions so promptly. I figured Auntie would probably be the best place to find information but wasn't totally sure if I was on the right track. Plus, I was afraid they'd recognise me: I got up a petition to bring the Goodies back to television back in high school and got rather annoyed when I never received any acknowledgement of its reception. I've since realised I probably sent it to totally the wrong address :S oh, what a fool I was! At least my heart was in the right place...

I remember the excitement I felt when I realised the Goodies were doing an Australian reunion tour... the passion was matched only by the disappointment I felt when my dear boss refused me time off to see them... darn him... then again, he can't help being an uncultured swine...

Anyway, I'm rambling. Again. As usual. And in Latin, de novo! Thanks once more for your answers, shall see you round the boards!

ming-28, I was wondering if I could once again lean on your extensive knowledge of all things BritCom.

I recently bought the Red Dwarf V DVD and inside it had a BBC DVD catalogue. Two of the 'new releases for 2005' listed were 'The Goodies - A Tasty Second Helping' and 'The Goodies - 6 Delicious Episodes'.

Now, I have already bought the former, but hadn't heard of the latter. I didn't recognise the cover either; it was a blue DVD that had a picture of the Goodies posing on Buttercup. I checked http://www.abc.net.au, as you so helpfully reccommended, but could only find 'A Tasty Second Helping' listed.

So my question remains unanswered? Is it a new DVD or is it some variation of the first DVD ('8 Delicious Episodes'?? Any other sources I could check with?

Here's hoping it's a new DVD!

WOW!!
After school fare way back in the 80's. Never missed it. I wouldn't mind seeing them again, just to get an adult point of view of the hunour.

"The Goodies - Tasty Box" is available for $80 Australian (4 discs, 16 eps) or you can buy the 2-disc sets seperately for $36.95 Australian each. They also adjust to your country's prices.

A large number of episodes can be found packaged by season on some of those reprehensible internet peer-to-peer filesharing thingies. Mainly the type that sounds like a river, although I found the Playgirl club episode through a network that sounds like a certain pack animal.
