The Goodies would have been bigger than Monty Python...

...if not for the BBC.

The BBC only played "The Goodies" series once ever in the UK. The station seemed to have problems with some of the content of "The Goodies", so they never played repeats.

"The Goodies" became big in other countries, where it was repeated often. That's how I began a fan. In Australia, when I was a kid, it was on every night, and they repeated them over and over for three years straight.

"Monty Python's Flying Circus" got a much better run, making them bigger, especially in the UK. Python's okay, but the Goodies is much funnier for mine.

Also, because of the BBC, this great show will never have all the eps on DVD, since they deleted some of the eps.

Maybe they didn't like in "Gender Education" where Bill blows up the BBC. That's what should actually happen to the BBC for their shabby treatment of such a great show.
