What ever happened to reruns???

I used to absolutely LOVE this show when I was a kid!! I watched it every Saturday morning....Remember the episode when the witch stole Joy's voice? I wish they would bring it to TVLand

Some are available on DVD. I'd check Amazon or eBay.

It's funny, while I watched this as a kid and saw every episode, the only episode I can actually remember was one with the witch stealing Joy's voice!

I remember that episode, and I also remember three or four others:

(1) An episode where three of the bugaloos went to a concert and one of the males stayed behind (the greenish one I think) -- the witch character had a plot to kidnap him and surgically remove his wings -- she was going to have them surgically grafted onto herself;

(2) One where the witch's 'music box' broke so she abducted the bugaloos and imprisoned them in her music box (she had a gun to make people small -- it made a pulsing sound that sounded like the weapons on the 1950s war of the worlds movie) -- the bugaloos would have to sing for the witch -- don't remember how this one was resolved;

(3) The witch would put her victims on a record player turntable and let the needle cut them to rivits

(4) I remember Joy's birthday party

The Bugaloos were wonderful, caring, harmoneous characters with real warmth and love and protective. The plots were always rather weird and would get you on a deeper psychological level -- the witch's plans to surgically remove one's wings, for instance. Or steal Joy's voice. Or that 'rejuvenator' weapon that would either make people small or turn them into babies -- wow -- the krofts knew what upset us kids. As a six year old, being turned into a baby was the worst thing I could think of.

I think I've traced my love of Celtic things and Art Nauvou and that 'wind in the willows' look to the Bugaloos.
