The thing that makes me sad...

I absolutely love this show, and it makes me so sad that I will never be able to watch the whole show from start to finish. I wish that Abc or whoever owns the rights would release some sort of DVD set. I realize that it's impossible, and will never happen, but I would love that! Instead of releasing "seasons" they would release years. Or maybe they could somehow edit each year into a 30 episode season somehow. OR whoever owns the show/has the episodes, could release the entire show in a Netflix type online setting. If you watch at least one episode every day, you could probably finish the show in 40 years or so lol. Ok, well I''m obviously crazy...

Hate to make you sadder, but most of the footage from the first 8 years was lost.
The networks used to record over older shows to save money, and also there was a fire that destroyed the remaining copies.
Few people had the capabilities of recording shows back then, but every once in a while someone digs up some old footage or recorded audio from those years.

It's the same thing for Doctor Who :< People back then never really thought there would be a time when people would want to watch all the old stuff over again I don't think, which really is a darn shame. I would give anything to have a way to watch certain arcs of the show- specially the whole thing with bianca + babe and the babies. Thing is with AMC though is the arcs really do bleed into each other so it would be a big task. One can dream.

I'd love it! As long as I could zip through boring parts. In videotape days, I developed the "talent" of being able to zip through unnecessary things like: Doorbell rings, Erica sighs, sets down her cup of coffee, walks to door, opens it--- etc. I got to where I was able to zip exactly to the instant when whoever was at the door was shown. Ya can't really do that with DVR/TiVo.

Also I want it for free! Or at least with the standard Netflix subscription. "Amazing" tells you they have zillions of movies and TV Shows, but leaves out the part where you actually have to pay for lots (and LOTS) of them. But yeah, I would watch the bits I missed over the years. I think I managed to miss literally every wedding on that show!

Oh, and I think the earlier episodes were only half an hour, so you could get thru them faster than 40 yrs! Or just binge 10 eps a weekend you'd be done in half the time!
