Peace Corps?

This film describes a Peace Corp-like organization but in fact the contents of the movie specifically names the Peace Corp directly. I was surprised, I thought the Peace Corp had sterling PC credentials. Surely the way the P.C. was portrayed was an exaggeration? Did the U.S. use this outfit for such dastardly ends? Aside from that this is a very good movie, nearly documental in its delivery. Near the end there's a moment where an old man is sitting on a cliff sun gazing. A Peace Corp man asks a local what the guy's doing up there. The native replies, "he's getting filled with light."
