Same set as Indiana Jones and Last Crusade?

At the 1:38 mark Clint's character is setting up explosives by a fireplace in the German command meeting room. That fireplace looks similar to the one Indy and his father get tied up in, in the Last Crusade. Could they be the same set? Anyone know?

Doubtful, although both were shot in British film studios. I suppose it's conceivable that parts of the WED set survived it seems very unlikely given that they were made twenty years apart.
However, possibly the designs were used, perhaps as a homage to WED, and even conceivable that moulds used for WED and other sets survived and were used. Most likely it is just coincidence. But I'll take a look at both movies later because now I'm curious!

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Thanks very much! This does seem at least possible that the sets were re-used or at least the set models were. Both movie scenes supposed to be set in a German or Austrian-looking castles.

Maybe German/Austrian castles had similar designs? I think that's more probable.

Answered this same question on the other Last Crusade thread-
"As it happens Where Eagles Dare was on TV yesterday and I switched to the channel it was on just as that scene came on. Remembering this thread and an earlier thread about the same thing I grabbed by DVD of The Last Crusade for a quick comparison. The two fireplaces are completely different. The WED one has four columns supporting its mantle, these are decorated with birds of prey at the top, wings spread. The Last Crusade mantle is supported by two statues of humans. The rest of the rooms are totally different too."

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

The Last Crusade dining room also has two fireplaces, and the door is in a different spot.

I mean, really, how many times will you look under Jabba's manboobs?
