I don't understand how Troma ended up being the company that released this movie. Can anyone fill me in as to why they released it? It is soooo different than any of thier other movies.

What do you mean? Troma simply picks up and releases films that no one else wants to release. They've picked up some great little gems like Beg! and Suicide (both foreign films I believe).
